Pier Giacomo Castiglioni was born in Milan in 1913. He graduated in 1937 at the Politecnico of Milan in Architecture. After the war he began a close collaboration with her brother, Achille. Their interests are addressed to Urban Planning, Architecture and Design, carrying out a varied and intense professional activity as participating actively in the international cultural life. In 1956 he is one of the founders of ADI Association for Industrial Design. Numerous awards include: five Golden Compasses, Grand Prizes of the Milan Triennale, winner of numerous international competitions, many of his works are present in the collections of Museums around the world including at the MOMA in New York. Achille Castiglioni was born in Milan in 1918. He graduated in 1944 at the Politecnico of Milan in Architecture. Since 1940 he has been involved in experimentation of the industrial product together with his brothers Livio and Pier Giacomo. After the war hr began the close collaboration with Pier Giacomo. Between 1984 and 1986 a personal exhibition was set up starting from Vienna and hosted in major European museums. It is internationally known for its objects in the field of lighting and furniture, as well as for spectacular displays. The brothers Achille and Pier Giacomo Castiglioni have also worked for brands such as Kartell, Zanotta, Flos, Bernini, Siemens, Knoll, Poggi, Lancia, Ideal Standard, Arflex, Alessi.
